The House on the Hill Overlooking Riverside Inn and the Finley River in Ozark, MO

Ozark MO Real Estate

I've lived in Ozark, MO, for over 30 years.  One of the first homes that ever captured my attention was the home overlooking Riverside Inn and the Finley River in Ozark.  In the summer, it's easy to miss the home because it is effectively camouflaged by the trees.  But when the leaves fall off the trees, the home becomes very prominent on the cliff high above the river and the restaurant.

I've always wondered what the home looks like inside.  The decks suspended over the river look very ominous to me (but then I have an incredible fear of heights).  I would love to walk out on them just once...just to say I did.  The home was built in 1975 and is currently owned by the owner of a large marketing firm in Springfield, and I've been told that he has made many changes to the home.  He uses the home only as a venue for entertaining clients and guests, and resides elsewhere.  From the road, the home looks enormous, but I was surprised when the tax records indicated the home is only 1923 square feet.

If you're ever driving by Riverside Inn, look up.  It's a sight you definitely don't want to miss.

Unfortunately, this home is not currently listed for sale.  However, I have provided some links for other Ozark, MO, real estate that is.

Thanks, Robert!  I couldn't capture the beauty in a photograph.  The real deal is so much more impressive.

That looks like one massive home.  I bet the views from the top are stunning.

It's a two bedroom, 3 bath home with 2 living areas, 3 car garage, sitting on 3 acres, more or less.  I know a lot of the history of the home.  I'd be happy to share.

Mom - Actually, Eric Engall told me that Noble bought 20+ acres from Johnny Morris when he purchased the home.  He also said that the previous owner, Mr. May, lost his wife when she was crushed between her car and a tree in the driveway.  I couldn't find anything on the MLS that would show when it was sold, or photos of the interior.

Lina, I keep thinking what beautiful VIEWS this home must have!  I'm not afraid of heights so I would certainly enjoy the deck as well.  What a nice "little" place to entertain :)

Hi Lina, we can all see that you are intrigued with the home... and now you have sparked OUR interest!  What you need to do is set up tours and the days when it's not in use... ask your mother to help! (smile)

I work for the firm that uses this home as a retreat and I can attest to how awesome this house is. You said you were surprised by the homes size, given the length and grandeur of the home. I do believe that with the additions to the home that it is larger than 1900 Sq ft, but it may not be. It is very narrow and very long and has an incredible great room with a HUGE fireplace in it. There is a room that juts out from the home and hangs over the cliff and it makes me nervous every time I walk into it!
